Q: Is there a difference between biodiesel and waste vegetable oil?
A: Biodiesel is made from vegetable oil through a chemical process that allows it to run in any diesel engine. Waste vegetable oil is just that - waste vegetable oil used by restaurants for cooking and then filtered for direct use as fuel.
Q: Can you convert any vehicle?
A: No, unfortunately it is only for diesel engines.
Q: Can WVO work in cold climates or winter?
A: Yes. With the ENVIOFUEL system if the engine will start on diesel, you can run WVO as normal.
Q: Is the mileage the same on WVO and diesel?
A: There can be a 5% loss in either mileage or horsepower, but it hard to tell.
Q: Can I still use my diesel tank?
A: Yes, you can easily switch between running off of diesel or WVO.
Q: Will I notice a difference in performance?
A: No, although we've had people say they seem to have more low-end torque.
Q: Can you use any kind of vegetable oil?
A: Any kind of 100% vegetable oil will work. Stay away from hydrogenated oils, or any that are solid at room temperature.
Q: Can I put new vegetable oil in my car?
A: ENVIOFUEL does not endorse the use of new oil for fuel, as it is wasteful. We recommend finding a local source of used oil, which is more economical and environmentally friendly.
Q: How do I get oil for my vehicle?
A: You create relationships and/or contracts with restaurants and collect their used fryer oil, or simply purchase fuel directly from ENVIOFUEL.
Q: How do I collect oil?
A: Our system was designed in conjunction with the Refuel kit for on-the-go 12 collection at 15 GPM, directly into your vegetable oil tank.
